T5-DC LED tubes with a length of 288 mm are frequently used in mobile, battery-operated luminaires. Typical are applications in the field of vehicles, trucks, buses, trains, ships, camping, caravans, garden sheds, etc., where usually no mains voltage prevails.
The luminaires used there usually have T5 fluorescent tubes installed, which, however, require an electronic ballast for operation in order to generate the necessary ignition voltage of more than 1000 V from the existing battery voltage.
Our METOLIGHT T5-DC LED tubes are directly connected to the DC on-board voltage and do not require a ballast, which also consumes at least between 5 and 15 watts of power. Thus, the battery can provide the tube much longer with energy.
We supply these T5-DC LED tubes in the lengths of 212 / 288 and 517 mm in the light colors warm white, neutral white and cool white. Other lengths, clear cover and light colors on request.

Important: If a fluorescent tube was previously installed in the luminaire, the luminaire must be rewired by a qualified electrician, the existing ballast removed and the G5 sockets rewired. In addition, the luminaire must be suitably checked after conversion and marked with a warning sign for use with T5 DC lamps 12-36 VDC. It is not possible to operate this T5-DC LED tube directly on the 230 Volt mains supply!

The METOLIGHT LED tube T5-DC corresponds in brightness to the previous fluorescent tubes, but offers a much longer shelf life and a 30-50% lower energy consumption. The matt PMMA front distributes the light up to 140° The use of SMD LEDs latest technology with over 130 lm / W LED efficiency, aluminum core PCBs in an aluminum housing with only 15.5 mm diameter make these LED tubes for perfect retrofit.
