METOLIGHT SFC-10 UV filter foil consists of a glass-clear, tear-resistant, dimensionally stable PET film, approx. 100 μm thick with an additional double-sided UV filter coating that blocks light below 400 nm. Thus, harmful UV light is absorbed.
Since only the light components below 400 nm are filtered out of daylight, the colors of 400 to 700 nm remain visible to the human eye. The film is therefore ideal for coating windows in museums, galleries, exhibitions, libraries, as well as in shops, laboratories, workplaces and wherever UV-free room lighting is required.
In order to block the UV component in luminaires with fluorescent tubes, we offer suitable UV filter tubes (ASR-UV-400) for the tubes T5 and T8. These are simply slided over the fluorescent tubes.
It is optimal to attach the foil between two glass panes or between the glass pane and a acrylic glass pane. Alternatively, the film can also be adhered to the window by using UV-resistant adhesive tape SKF-19.

As standard we supply UV filter foil as a rollware with a width of 122 cm and a length of 10 m.
Roll cut offs are available from 1 m length
Roll lengths up to 700 meters can be supplied on request.
Notes:
The UV coating is applied on both sides of the carrier film. The filtering effect decreases with the passage of time, since the UV filter degrades slowly by the absorption of the UV light. How long the filter effect lasts is determined by the amount of UV light. On external windows to the south side the filter effect can decrease after 1 year, while the filter effect can last up to 10 years on internal windows. It is therefore necessary to check the effect at regular intervals (eg every 6 months) with a suitable UV meter.
The UV filter effect is reduced at light wavelengths below approx. 350 nm
Cleaning:
The filter film must not be cleaned with acidic, alkaline or abrasive cleaners, as these can dissolve the emulsion. The SFC-10 foils ,also may notr be cleaned with water! only use a lint-free cleaning cloth (no microfiber cloths!) and wipe the film with only slight pressure.
