This PEAK stand magnifier is equipped with an achromatic, aplanatic, scratch resistant lens system of 2 groups and 4 elements for largely distortion-free,erected image of the surface to be examined.
Unlike conventional magnifiers, the Peak 1996 images erected. Because of the high magnification and the resulting shallow depth of field, it is advisable to practice the accurate focusing. The optical axis of the object must match the visual axis of the eye, the distance of the eye to the lens should be about 8 mm. In order to focus the distance of the object is changed to motion.
At 30x magnification with fixed focus a field of view of 7 mm is achieved.
