The LED strip series MQ5050 are designed for professional use. They are characterized by numerous technical details, which significantly stand out METOLIGHT LED strips from cheap LED strips from the supermarket or hardware stores. METOLIGHT LED-Strips only use high-performance EPISTAR SMD-LEDs type 5050 with an efficiency of over 120 lm / W (white), fixed to flexible polyimide circuit board having 35 µm Cu layer by silver solder paste. Thus a long-term function and consistent LED brightness over the entire roll length of 5 meters is assured. It can be extended to maximum 3 rolls, then power must be supplied from the power supply again.
For low-cost products, the Cu layer is usually only 9 microns, so a series of several LED strips leads to strong heating and significant loss of brightness. With cheap RoHS solder pastes based on bismuth it comes increasingly to contact fractures, causing LED segments to be off.

Single colour LED-Strips Series MQ5050 can be connected directly to a 12 V DC constant voltage driver, RGB-LED-Strips however need additionally a RGB-controller (not included) and every 10-15 m one RGB-amplifier. Controllers and amplifiers you can find here

The series MQ5050-12-030D is silicone coated and embedded in a silicone tube to reach IP68 class. This tube is suitable for any outdoor application alsso under water usage.

The LED strip with protection class IP68 (Code D) may be used in outdoor areas for general decorative lighting. It may not be operated under water. Application areas are garden lighting, decorating outdoor, under roof installation etc..

The series MQ5050-12-030D LED strips are available in the colors 3000K (warm white), 4000K (naturel white), 6000K (cool white), red (620-630 nm), yellow (585-595 nm), green (510 -525 nm), blue (450-470 nm) and RGB (needs additional RGB -controller)
In other versions of the LED strips are also available for 24 VDC, as well as in IP20, IP54 and IP67

Installation:
The back of our LED strip is provided with a 3M adhesive tape, so that the LED strips are glued to dust-free, dry surfaces. We recommend especially for continuous lighting of the LED strips to stick on aluminum flat profiles or our special LED profiles to ensure optimal heat dissipation. Sticking on wood or other heat insulating surfaces leads to overheating and thus shortened shelf life of the LEDs.

Electrical connection:
The LED strip must be connected to a stabilized power supply with 12 V DC output voltage, optionally also to respective batteries. Please pay attention to correct polarity. The red connection cable leading to the positive terminal of the power supply. The use of cheap, unregulated power supplies may damage the LED Strip, since such power supplies usually make a significantly higher output voltage (depending on the load connected).
RGB-LED-strips come with 4 wires, common anode and need an additional RGB-controller in case you want to mix colours. For fixed colours the green, red and blue wire or any combination can be connected to the LED driver
